Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is the SportsCenter News Anchor. In 2016, she joined ESPN. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been for a long time, starting at the age of nine. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She worked with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she worked as a reporter for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor and reporter for anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English as well as an anchor for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. In addition, she was used occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. In 1992, her parents divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. The holiday in the summer that she lived with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta, a high-school senior who had a vision of how she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. At the end of the day, she fell in love with the campus. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. After completing her studies, she was accepted into the University for a master's degree of media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was part of her class, developed an ongoing relationship with her. He inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She, was determined to live up to his standards and never fail him.
